Contemporary Garden Design in Glastonbury, Somerset

This contemporary garden design in Glastonbury transformed both the front and back gardens into stylish, practical outdoor spaces. The project combines modern landscaping, carefully selected materials and considered planting to create gardens that complement the character of the property while providing attractive spaces for everyday use.

A Contemporary Garden Transformation

We approached the front and back gardens as connected spaces, creating a consistent contemporary style throughout the property.

The design uses clean lines, strong geometric forms and carefully selected materials to give the gardens a modern appearance. We also considered how the different areas would be used, ensuring that the finished landscaping remained practical as well as visually striking.

Good contemporary garden design combines appearance with functionality, and we carefully balanced both throughout this Glastonbury project.

Contemporary Front Garden Design

The front garden creates an important first impression, so we designed it to complement the architecture of the property while providing a welcoming entrance.

We introduced structured planting and contemporary landscaping to create a clean, considered appearance. The layout provides definition without making the garden feel overly formal, while carefully selected plants add colour, texture and seasonal interest.

The front garden now provides a strong connection between the house and the surrounding landscape.

Contemporary Back Garden Design

The back garden provides a more private outdoor space for relaxing and enjoying the garden.

We created a series of connected areas that give the garden structure while allowing different activities to take place. The landscaping creates clear zones without making the garden feel divided, helping the whole space work as one cohesive outdoor area.

The result is a practical and welcoming garden that combines modern design with softer planting.

Modern Landscaping and Materials

We selected landscaping materials to reinforce the contemporary character of the design.

Clean lines and carefully positioned hard landscaping provide structure, while the planting softens the overall appearance. Using a limited and considered palette of materials helps create visual consistency between the front and back gardens.

Our [Landscaping] service combines practical construction with careful attention to detail, helping us create gardens that look good and perform well over time.

Planting with Structure and Texture

Planting plays an important role in this contemporary garden design in Glastonbury.

We selected plants to introduce contrasting shapes, textures and seasonal interest while complementing the clean lines of the hard landscaping. The planting also helps soften boundaries and creates a more natural transition between the garden and the surrounding property.

Thoughtful planting can transform a contemporary garden, adding warmth and personality without compromising the overall modern style.

Creating Practical Outdoor Spaces

A successful garden needs to work for the people who use it.

We considered how the homeowners would move through and use both gardens, creating practical areas for relaxing, entertaining and enjoying the outdoors. The design provides a clear sense of structure while retaining flexibility within the space.

By combining practical landscaping with carefully considered design, we created outdoor spaces that are both attractive and functional.
