Contemporary Garden Design, Rodney Stoke, Somerset

We have created a contemporary garden design in Rodney Stoke, Somerset, using oak and sawn sandstone we have completely transformed this unused back garden into a wonderful space for entertaining and relaxing for two hard working clients.

By providing various 3D designs during a consultation period, the clients were able to visualise what their garden would become. Using oak sleepers to retain an existing slope in the garden we were able to provide a much more manageable level lawn. A bespoke circular seating area with hand cut sandstone edging to match provides a seating area at one end of the garden and is set into a raised bed area ready for planting.

A path then leads under a large cor-ten steel water feature which will turn a wonderful burnt red in colour over time. Now the hard landscaping really begins with planting beds raised and edged with sandstone. Steps lead down onto a large level patio and another seating area from which to enjoy the garden from different angles.

To hide an old brick wall, and the block work necessary for the decking and glass balustrade, we’ve used multi slate split face tiles. Another lawn is edged with sawn sandstone to make the maintenance easy.

All the original stone walls were either demolished and rebuilt or re pointed to finish another wonderful build.
